Message	with a turbo shop in Houston, and the tech guy told me that when my drain tube was blocked, the oil builds up in the bearing area, and there is an escape path for the oil to leave and it does so through compressor/turbine housings. Mine occurred because of back-pressure. I'm not sure about your situation...because really you just had it upside down. If you had your oil pan off, where did the oil come from? Residual in your turbo I guess?
